Memorial Wood

Bradgate Park is a special place for many people and is close to the hearts of visitors and their families.  Thanks to support from local and national Masonic charities and Leicestershire County Council, the Charity has been able to dedicate an area for quiet reflection as the Park’s Memorial Wood.Memorial Wood Logotype

Where is it?

Memorial Wood is an area of woodland to the side of the accessible carriage way that crosses the Park. It offers a tranquil setting overlooking Cropston Reservoir and is reached by a natural stone path. Rich in native wildlife species, the area is bound by traditional metal deer fencing, has seating and a central sculpture of a stag, set on a natural stone plinth.

Bradgate Park’s Bronze Oak Leaves

Reflecting the ancient oaks of the historic landscape, these leaves are a perfect way to celebrate weddings, birthdays and anniversaries, or to remember someone special. They are displayed on distinctive feature wooden pillars, made from oak from the Estate, within the natural setting of Memorial Wood.

Bronze leaves

The beautiful bronze leaves can be inscribed with a dedication of your choice (limited to 30 characters, excluding spaces, over two lines). They make the perfect commemorative gift to help you celebrate or remember a special person, pet or occasion.

Choose your individual message, name or dates to be displayed on the surface of a bronze oak leaf as a lasting memento within Bradgate Park.

Each leaf, measuring 16cm long, will form a permanent part of Memorial Wood. Oak Leaves are available for £275.

Once your oak leaf has been made we will place it in Memorial Wood and then advise you as to its location.  We cannot guarantee specific preferences or locations on a monolith.  However oak leaves that are ordered together will be placed together on a monolith.

If you would like to discuss your options further, please call us on 0116 236 2713 or email [email protected]
