Othello Outdoor Theatre at Bradgate Park

Join us for a captivating evening of open-air theatre as Othello, one of Shakespeare’s most powerful and enduring tragedies, is performed in the stunning surroundings of Bradgate Park.

Presented by The Lord Chamberlain’s Men, this production offers a rare chance to experience Shakespeare as it was originally staged. With an all-male cast, authentic Elizabethan costumes, music, and dance, the company brings a unique and immersive energy to this timeless story.

“I know my price, I am worth no worse a place.”

Othello, a celebrated general in the Venetian army, promotes the young Cassio over his loyal ensign Iago. Fuelled by jealousy and resentment, Iago sets in motion a chilling campaign of manipulation and deceit. As his web of lies tightens, Othello is drawn into a tragic spiral that tests love, loyalty, and trust to their limits.

“Put out the light, and then put out the light.”

A gripping tale of passion, betrayal, and destructive ambition, Othello remains one of Shakespeare’s most moving and thought-provoking plays.
