Birds, Butterflies & Bugs at Bradgate Park

Join a knowledgeable guide for a leisurely summer walk through the Park, and discover the rich variety of wildlife that call Bradgate home. 

Whilst primarily focused on birds, we will be visiting habitats that attract a variety of wildlife, including butterflies, dragonflies and other insects, as well as an array of wildflowers. The sound of Skylark, Meadow Pipit and Yellowhammer singing will be all around us. We will be searching for dragonflies along the River Lin and around the small ponds, and butterflies may appear almost anywhere. We will try to show you some of the stunning wildlife that play their part in the extensive ecosystem of the Park at this exciting time of year

The walk is approx. 3.5 hours long.

What to bring: 

This walk will involve walking over uneven and potentially weather-affected ground. Appropriate clothing and footwear are therefore recommended. Binoculars would also be great if you have them.

Meeting point: 

Please meet at Newtown Linford Car Park (LE6 0HB), meeting your guide by the iron gates. Please aim to arrive approx. 10 minutes prior to the start of the activity.

Suitability:

This walk is suitable for adults and children aged 10+.

Dogs are not permitted on this walk

Accessibility:

The walk will involve uneven terrain and walking on grass. It is not suitable for those in wheelchairs or mobility scooters.

Sessions will go ahead unless extreme weather is forecast.

• This is an outdoor walk which will go ahead in all weather conditions, except in the case of extreme weather that threatens the safety of our staff and visitors.
• We are unable to make refunds for this event, except in the circumstance of the event being cancelled due to extreme weather conditions.
