Willow Weaving Bird House Workshop June 26

Join us for a relaxing and creative 3-hour willow weaving course making your very own Willow Bird House.

This hands-on session is perfect for beginners and those looking to try something new in the beautiful natural setting of Bradgate Park.

All materials and tools are provided, along with step-by-step guidance from your experienced tutor Kate, and you’ll leave with your own finished handmade piece to take home. This workshop is suitable for beginners and is held in small groups to keep it supportive. All willow creations can be used outdoors or indoors.

What you’ll make:
Willow bird house

Location: Meeting Room, Deer Barn Building (behind the Cafe and Visitor Centre), Bradgate Park. 
Time: Session 1 Workshop runs 10:00am – 1:00pm. Session 2 Workshop runs 2pm - 5pm. 
Refreshments: Water, Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided throughout the session.

What to bring/wear:
Comfortable clothing suitable for crafting
Layers (venue temperature can vary)
Optional: apron or old clothes as willow can be messy!

Your Tutor: Kate is an artist, willow weaver, and experienced workshop host with a passion for transforming natural materials into beautiful sculptural forms. Inspired by her first glimpse of a willow sculpture, she quickly fell in love with the craft and now shares that enthusiasm through hands-on workshops. Kate is known for her welcoming approach, helping complete beginners create pieces they’re proud of. We can't wait to see your creations!

Suitability:

This workshop is suitable for adults and children aged 12+ years. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Dogs are not permitted during this workshop.

Accessibility:

The workshop is held in our Deer Barn Meeting Room and is suitable for wheelchair access and mobility access needs. The space can be tight depending on guests numbers. When booking please make us aware of any needs you may have or you can contact the Estate Office on 0116 236 2713 if you have any accessibility-related queries.

For Blue Badge holders please contact us using the Estate Office number to arrange parking at the Deer Barn Building.

Please park at Hallgates (Cropston Reservoir) car park - LE7 7HQ. It is approx. a 15 min walk to the Deer Barn building from here.
