Fused Glass Garden Stake

Join us for an exciting workshop where you'll learn the captivating art of fused glass!

In this hands-on session, you'll have the opportunity to design and craft your own set of three fused glass panels. Once completed, these unique panels will be mounted in a metal garden stand, perfect for showcasing your artistic creation. Whether you're a beginner or more experienced, you'll have the option to cut your own glass or choose from a variety of pre-cut elements to bring your vision to life.

You're three panels can be themed or each designed differently—it's entirely up to your creative flow on the day. After the workshop, your panels will be carefully fired in the kiln (off-site), and silicone will be applied to secure them in the stand. Your finished artwork will be ready for collection one week later, allowing you to proudly display your new masterpiece.

Each session is led by Kate Wright an experienced Fused Glass Artist who will guide you through each step in creating your glass panels.

The stands measure 115cm x 20 cm with the lower 25cm to be sunk into the ground. Each fused glass panel is approx. 18cm x 8 cm (visible glass). They can stay out in the garden most of the year but you may need to bring them in for sharp frosts and snow.

Location: Bradgate Park Meeting Room, at the Deer Barn building in the centre of the Park. 

Parking: Car Parking charges apply and are not included in ticket price. The Meeting Room is approx. a 15-20 min walk from Hallgates car park (LE7 7HQ)

Date: Saturday 14th September

Arrival Time: 9:30am for tea and coffee

Start/Finish Time: 10am - 1pm

Refreshments: Teas and coffee upon arrival, with cake served during the break. Please bring your own water bottle with you as this can be thirsty work! There is a Cafe onsite should you be hungry after your workshop.

Attire: You will need to wear closed-toe shoes for the workshop (glass, like toast, always falls the ‘wrong side down’) but no previous experience is needed.

Age Suitability: Suitable for 14 + years, but all young adults under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult at all times
