With the development of our 'Explore' Education Programme we have a number of opportunities for volunteers in helping to lead and support delivery of the Trust's “Explore Bradgate” education sessions for schools and visiting groups.

The search for Mini-beasts

Education Sessions take place during the week and term time only. Each session lasts for 2 hours and takes place whatever the weather. Schools and groups need to pre-book and volunteers are notified of bookings once they have been received. Volunteers can sign up to the sessions they would like to help with and there are a variety of dates and topics to cater for different needs.  We provide full training, resources and support. You will need excellent communication skills and enjoy engaging with children of various ages and backgrounds and have a willingness to learn about National Curriculum linked subjects.

Learning about small creatures

Our sessions include: The Stone Age; The History of the Ruins of Bradgate House; Woodlands; Minibeasts and the River Lin.

The Education Session Leaders can also get involved in supporting Family Activities at Trust Events and holiday times. These are more informal and are often craft or activity based.
