Hear about Bradgate Park some 600 million years ago – a story of seas, volcanoes, mountains, deserts, glaciers, earthquakes, sun and rain on a 2.5 hour walk of the Park. John Martin, a geology expert, will look at the rock outcrops which contain the oldest group of rocks in England and explain their fascinating story.

This walk of is over grass and is, in places, over steep, rocky slopes. Unsuitable for people in wheelchairs.

Hunts Hill (Old John) car park LE6 0AH (off Sharpley Hill/Warren Hill and opposite turn into Benscliffe Road) – The closest car park to Old John and the War Memorial. This is the best car park for exploring the Upper Park and getting some peace and quiet.
