With a quarrel raging between Oberon, King of the fairies and his Queen, Titania four young lovers become entangled in their magical affray and soon no mortals are safe in those bewitched and bewitching woods outside Athens.

Quantum Theatre’s stylish and whimsical production presents a flight of magical fancy where real life is unexpectedly entangled with the supernatural, where willow-the-wisp fairies, unsuspecting artisans and ardent young lovers are woven together by the finest gossamer thread:

Additional car parking charges apply at all 3 of the Bradgate Park car parks of £3 for the whole day. You will need to walk to the Ruins for this event. Limited blue badge parking can be booked in advance. 

The nearest car park to the performance is Hallgates (Cropston) Car Park.

Frequently asked questions:

  • Allow time for you walk from either the Newtown Linford car park (0.7 miles through Little Matlock) or 1.2 miles from Hallgates via the Reservoir and (FREE to visit) Visitor Centre. There are signs guiding the route. Car parking is £3 for the day - so why not enjoy a full day at Bradgate?
  • The Ruins of Bradgate House will be opened one hour before the show so you can set up for picnics.
  • The area is grass, no benches so bring low back chairs, picnic rugs. Please be considerate about large umbrellas or tented covers/windbreaks with regard to other visitors
  • We have limited numbers to 500 (so the space has plenty of room)
  • Bring picnics - celebrate/take pics (no recordings please)... but please note after the show we will be asking you to leave promptly at the end of the performance (sorry that sounds officious!) so we can clear the space for Friday's performances. (Please tidy up after yourself)
  • We will have six port-aloos on site
  • There will be an ice-cream bike!
  • The show is great and the company will be using a sound system but it is live, outdoor and happens whatever the weather (except extreme lightning storms!) No refunds unless we cancel! (Sorry illness or better offers do not lead to refunds)
  • The show is two halves each about 40-45mins mins with a 20min interval
  • Bring your tickets as the gate will be checking them

Car parks machines do not take cards
No dogs please (other than assistance) due to picnics and our policy for performance events
