New Bird Identification Boards

A joint initiative between the Leicestershire & Rutland Ornithological Society and the Bradgate Park Trust means that visitors to Leicestershire’s most popular park will now be able to identify the various birds that they spot.
The Society advised which birds should be featured and donated the artwork, which was produced by wildlife artist Andy Mackay and Park staff fabricated and installed the boards.
Peter Tyldesley, Land Agent & Surveyor at the Bradgate Park Trust said:

“We are very grateful for the support of the Leicestershire & Rutland Ornithological Society in advising us on the content and location of these boards and for generously donating the artwork. The boards have been well received by visitors and children, in particular, really enjoy being able to identify the birds that they see around the feeders and on Cropston Reservoir”

President of the Ornithological Society, Jim Graham added:

“It has been a great pleasure to collaborate with the Bradgate Park Trust on this project. Part of the Society’s ethos is the education of the public, to stimulate interest in birds and wildlife conservation, and the feedback has been very positive. We look forward to more ventures in the future.”
