Lord Grey’s Regiment of Foote return to their home turf of Bradgate Park for our Living History Weekend As well as doing battle with their Royalist adversaries they will be offering an insight into 17th century life in the Living History encampment.

This event will take place around the Ruins of Bradgate House, home of the Regiment’s original Commanding Officer, Thomas Lord Grey of Groby, who was an ardent Parliamentarian and the only aristocrat to sit in judgement at the trial of King Charles I in 1649.

Inside the Ruins we will travel back a further 100 years with a programme of music from the time of Lady Jane Grey performed on both days in the recently restored chapel by Fabula Musica.

Activities start from 10am on both days and continue until 5pm. The main battlefield action will take place on the Deer Meadow (the flat area opposite the ruins) on both days.
